Position Overview: Azimuth Engineering Group is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team in Parsippany, NJ. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of electrical design, computer-aided design, and inspection engineering projects. Classification: Exempt
Hours: Mon-Fri (may vary based on project needs)
Supervisory Responsibility: N/A
Essential Job Functions:
- Uses computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) tools to accurately render and communicate design plans
- Prepare design calculations and analysis of existing and proposed electrical systems and fire alarm/signaling systems with some assistance for various building types
- Develop 3D models and 2D designs of equipment, wiring, and conduit to create panel schedules, one-line and three-line diagrams, as well as equipment details and specifications
- Works with a design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans, adhering to applicable building and design codes
- Enter and track all project related data in a cloud-based platform according to company standards
- Conduct site visits to gather existing conditions data and effectively take notes
- Collaborate with project team to successfully complete projects with established budgets and deadlines
- Complete assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency increases
- Conduct self-review for all deliverables to reduce errors and meet quality standards
- Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred
- 0-3 years experience with electrical building design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required, experience with Electrical Suite is a plus
- Proficiency in Revit and/or Inventor is preferred
- Experience with Substation design and Autodesk Substation Design Suite is a plus
- Experience with Fire Alarm system design and FireCAD is a plus
- Engineer in Training is preferred
- Telecommunication experience is a plus
- Experience with PSpice or similar electrical engineering analysis software is a plus
- Basic proficiency in the comprehension of building and electrical codes and standards is required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
- Must be able to access and inspect all areas of buildings, rooftops, and equipment
